Whilst up in its folds, a Roman blind offers a neat and aesthetically pleasing window dressing, and whilst fully down, often looking like art or a mural due to it showing off the design and pattern of the chosen fabric.
Roman blinds are constructed using thin pockets in the backing lining to create the folds. This offers great flexibility when it comes to linings, interlinings and a combination of both. Using a cotton lining and allowing light to pass through often illuminates the chosen fabric and can make some patterns and designs really stand out. However, applying blackout lining or interlining, whilst darkening the room also helps some fabrics to visually hold their colour. Should keeping the warmth in be a priority for you, we offer a thermal lining or a range of thicker interlinings. Whilst older blind mechanisms consisted of cords and cleats which could be often be temperamental, instead we now construct them using sturdy, head rails and spool cord reels enabling the blind to be pulled up evenly and easily. These are controlled using a continuous chain loop available in a range of colours and finishes with a built in safety release cog to replace older chain connectors. Should you be looking for something that offers a more luxurious, practical or great alternative for those hard to reach windows, motorisation could be the perfect answer consisting of a small 12V motor discretely installed within the headrail and powered using a neat, rechargeable battery pack, all operated by a range of single or multi-channel remote controls meaning multiple blinds can be operated with the click of a button.
